The client is an online medical supplement brand that specializes in high-quality, practitioner-approved formulas, including Chinese herbal remedies. Operating in a YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) niche, the brand faces intense scrutiny and competition within the wellness and health product space.

Objective
After years of gradual traffic decline worsened by repeated Google algorithm updates, the brand needed to regain visibility, restore organic traffic, and re-establish trust with both search engines and users.

Challenge
The site had been steadily losing search visibility due to a combination of outdated technical infrastructure, low-quality or missing content, and strong competition in a regulated niche. Compounding this was Google’s increased scrutiny on medical-related websites.

Beginning of The Story
We met the brand’s founder at our monthly e-Commerce Atlanta meetup—an event where we educate local DTC operators on digital growth strategies. We prioritized quick wins and long-term gains, then launched a focused link-building campaign to rebuild trust and authority. Fixed the Site’s Core Technical SEO Issues
Our engagement began with a full technical SEO audit. We uncovered multiple structural problems including cannibalized product variants, broken 4XX and 5XX error pages, slow load times, and internal links pointing to dead pages. Critical indexing issues—like pages stuck in “Crawled but not indexed” and “Discovered but not indexed”—were resolved by improving crawl efficiency and cleaning up XML sitemaps. We also implemented missing schema markup across product, blog, and category pages, boosting clarity for search engines.

Upgraded Content on Money-Making Products
Rather than improving every page blindly, we used Google Search Console and internal sales data to identify which products had the most potential—those with high impressions or revenue but low click-through rates and poor content. Turned Category & Brand Pages Into SEO Assets
We created SEO-rich content for every category and brand page—previously thin or empty. This added semantic depth to the site and helped anchor more long-tail keywords. Each page now explained product use cases, unique benefits, and embedded links to relevant blogs and FAQs.
These upgrades turned shallow indexable pages into rich topical hubs, boosting dwell time and increasing their ability to rank on more varied search intents.
Published Blogs That Built Authority
To build topical authority and support transactional pages, we launched a blog content strategy. We published expert-driven, keyword-researched blogs that answered user questions and linked internally to key product and category pages. Each post targeted a specific cluster of user intent—from symptom relief to supplement comparisons.
